Does the thermal coating touch my food?
No. The copper layer sits on the outer wall of the inner body. Your food touches nothing but uncoated 18/8 stainless steel.

Is the lid plastic?
Yes, recycled food-safe plastic with an anti-vacuum plug. It has to grip with cold hands and survive a drop. Everything your food touches inside the jar is steel.

How long does food stay hot?
14 hours hot and 19 hours cold, with no preheating. Rinse it out hot, fill it right up and keep it closed. That is what holds the heat.

Is the food jar leak-proof?
Leak-proof for everyday food, thanks to the silicone seal. Thick soups and stews travel fine. Carry thin, clear soup upright.

Is it dishwasher safe?
Yes, every part of it: jar, lid and seal.

Can I put it in the microwave or the oven?
Neither. Stainless steel does not belong in a microwave, and the vacuum body does not belong in an oven. It keeps food hot on its own, which is the point.

Is it suitable for kids?
Yes. It is compact and fits most lunch bags. The plug keeps the lid easy to open once the food has cooled.

Can I have it engraved?
Yes, on five of our products. The lunch box, both water bottles, the food jar and the travel mug. Express Engraving: order by 1 PM PT and we engrave it the same day. It happens in our own facility in CA. Engraved items cannot be returned, so check the spelling first.
